The CPU 1515R-2 PN is the CPU with a large program and data memory for applications which have higher requirements for availability compared with standard CPUs. It can be used as the PROFINET IO controller. The integrated PROFINET IO RT interface is configured as a 2-port switch, enabling a ring topology required for SIMATIC S7-1500R to be set up in the system. The additional integrated PROFINET interface with separate IP address can be used, for example, for network separation.
